Prodigal Daughter

Prodigal Daughter is a one-hour personal documentary which chronicles my return to Peru and realization of the cultural rift caused by 16 years of separation from my family. The tenacious pursuit of a better life has ironically ruined their assets causing misery and further poverty while destroying the tight bond which we all once shared. Economic desperation drove each of us to go our separate ways, a family diaspora that reaches from Peru to the United States, Japan and beyond. Will my return to Peru be a catalyst for reconciliation, or will our determination to immigrate keep us apart? Will we be able to overcome the emotional and cultural barriers which now separate us?
