  • awesome vid man, wat kind of martial arts u take?

  • I don't take martial arts. I train by myself. What you see in the video is how I train, although I usually train at the gym (24 Hour Fitness). Also, I don't follow any particular style anymore. I don't believe in styles. If you watch the entire Bruce Lee interview, the one he did in 1971 with Pierre Berton, I think you'll understand why. I think my views are pretty much the same as Bruce's views.

  • I find it quite impressive that you can do those kicks and punches correctly and with such good form without having been given any training! The internet IS definately a wonderful storehouse of knowledge and other things! I'm assuming that by training by yourself you mean you a) don't take classes and b) must have learned such good form from training videos on the internet. I have a little training in Taekwondo and Aikido but I've decided to train on my own terms now...

  • To MMRED: I train by myself now. But I had formal training in the martial arts from age 7-18. If you go to my new YouTube channel (user/MagovernMartialArts), I have an introduction video there where I explain my background in the martial arts.

  • Oh, okay cool. I was wondering how you could'a figured out the proper form to those kicks... HAHAHA! Anyway, that's cool. I've been training by myself as well for a while, although I'm thinking of doing kickboxing or MMA or something like that so I could train AGAINST someone, you know what I mean? But I agree with not trying to follow a particular style.

  • Yeah, I personally feel confident enough with my abilities as a martial artist now where I don't feel the need to train AGAINST anyone anymore. I think it all depends on what you want out of the martial arts. If you want to learn to really fight, then, yes, I think an MMA or kickboxing school is good. But for me, I am more interested in the "ART" aspect of martial arts, and trying to express myself in an honest way through my particular brand of martial arts.
