Not to be annoying or anything, but are you sure it's the receiver and not your TV that is causing the problem?
What does the TV do if you hook it directly up to the cable box?

Dude, i just got one. and i hooked everything up.
cable in the back of the box, hdmi to hdmi on the tv. but i use the remote and i cants get menu. and i manually go past 21 channels and i dont get anything..
