Catch a glimpse into our labs with this Kinect test by one of our researchers. Normally the virtual content in augmented reality is always in front of the real content, for example a virtual Lego model is always in front of a real hand. This behavior, generally called the occlusion problem in the AR community, unfortunately breaks the illusion of the virtual model being well integrated into the real environment. Through the image analysis capabilities of the Kinect and some handy coding, the occlusion problem finally may be solved!
