I guess I'm the only one who prefers '82 Vengenance ..I like the rawness in his voice during that tour.

yeah i mean. its all personal opinion.

@Theasshole85 I guess we'll agree to disagree especially the thought that Halford's voice was better in 88 than in 78 wasn't worse but no it was not better, but that's just me.I saw him perform from 1979 to well into the eighties and what I think we can agree on is his voice was amazing and this song Kicks Ass
-
i thought you were talking about who originally wrote and performed the song on the drums

regardless, yes, les binks is obviously a better drummer then dave holland but there are no recordings with priest and binks that have this good of a production. the fact that the guitars, bass, vocals and drums are at their loudest, heaviest and best tone of all time is what makes this the best version of the song ever. in other words its the production with halfords stunning vocals from this time period that makes it the best.

@Theasshole85 unleashed in the east version beats studio version...
the 1990 painkiller tour had even better sound production and vocals then this but there are no high quality clear sounding recordings from that tour.

Halford's voice was at it's peak during their 1986 'Fuel For Life' Tour, and the 1988 (this one) 'Mercenaries Of Metal' Tour. 'Painkiller' is a great album, but Rob's voice was shot during that tour. And during the 'Defenders of The Faith' tour in 1984, his voice was not very good due to constant drinking.

yeah you're right. the band sounded insane though on the 1990 tour. even better then 1988. halford probably killed his voice during the painkiller sessions.
