The inner city public school system is nothing more than a prison for teenagers.

Reminds me of a song though the video to which I apparently can't post. Search The Offspring Come Out and Play Lyrics on YouTube.

I've been in a similar situation but it's too long a story to type here. Senseless violence is just that, senseless.

I cant believe you are so humble ... man you are my brother and so inspirational I would love to meet you.. I am from NYC and was also bullied, but you handled that very well. I am so happy that there are ppl like yourself... Just in awe at your strength. I would have tried and killed those kids in that school if i saw this going on I would loose it.. but you didnt , and im so proud of you... god bless you!!!!

welcome to highschool

How is hitting, spitting, or generally picking on someone in order to be popular a more forgivable than any other reason? That seem like the worst reason of them all.
-
Look at it this way- at least the incident happened in a classroom where the teacher was present and called security. Imagine if this happened in the street after school w/o any adults present, could've been a lot worse.
And everywhere you go you'll meet stupid people who operate only through the sheep mentality. It's good to know you're not stooping to their level and trying to get retaliation and escalating the pointless and idiotic 'gang war'. Ignorance will never fade away.

thats serious God. im glad you survived. Thank you for sharing this, it takes a strong person to share something like this.

Great video ..... no ever tried to hit me in high school but i was very much a loner and i didn't care about popularity which made me an instant target i had people spit on my shoes and say very nasty things to me but no hitting. I've forgiven all those people because like in your situation i came to find out that they weren't obnoxious people they just wanted to be popular.

Some people will do the most dumbest things to get recognition. It's obvious that the guy that started the fight with you did it for recognition and then felt very guilty about it which is why he became so polite to you afterward. That is a good thing of course b/c other people are so cold hearted that they will take pride in hurting another person. It's very good to see that you're still alive today but very sad that Derrion Albert wasn't able to make it.
i cant really tell the diff between your accent and a jamaican can u explain plzz!!

No disrespect, but that's something you need to figure out on your own.

haha its cool..only thing i can tell is that i can actually understand u.. i have Jamaican neighbors and sometimes i don't know what the hell they are saying...
haha4545 2 years ago
Well that's really the dialect and not the accent. My American friends don't understand me when I speak to my mom or other Trinidadians/Tobagonians in my dialect. I understand Jamaicans and other West Indians easily though, even when they speak in their dialects.

ohhh got ya.. u should do a vid in your dialect : )

Yeah I've thought about it, but it's a bit hard to just turn on. I tend to switch to it when I'm speaking to other West Indians or people I'm really close with and know that they understand it. Who knows though, I may do it someday. :)
