  • I am an American with Scottish blood. Although I wasn't born there. Scotland always holds a special place in my heart, FOREVER!

  • @Redspeare Well spotted. I think many people miss the fact that US soldiers wore those helmets and some don't even realise that they fought in Europe in WW1.

  • @StonewallJackson26 forever

  • nothing is more scary that a bunch of men wearing skirts an blue makeup on there faces chargeing right at you. scottish soldiers are the best.

  • when in doubt, send in the scottish. we'll get the job done.

  • Where did you get the picture at 4:39? can you please send me a link?

  • @margaret657 New Zealanders are a proud people in their own right! For that you must be proud of where you are and born. That is not to say be proud of who you are. Be very proud of who you are! I am a Mi'gmaq (First Nations) Canadian, Irish, Scotish and Acadian. I am very proud of who I am, and so should you!

  • i tell you what i live in new zealand and my parents are scottish i am proud of that i was brought up the scots way of life and i tell you they are very proud people and i am proud to be part of that nation

and if need be listen to the song again as the solider has traveled away from scotland and was brought home again

  • @insanezy I was merely pointing out that the image used is from a painting depicting United States Marines in the battle of Belleau Wood.

The men of the 4th Marine Brigade were from every part of the world and certainly many were of Scots decent.

It is a common error to mistake US troops in WWI helmets for British Commonwealth Forces. The US adopted the "Brodie" helmet in 1917 and used it into the early days of WWII.

  • @Redspeare how do you know hes not of scotish descent or full scotish you dont have to be an american to be a marine
