Thailand's rice bowl is now Thailand's nightmare. The Chao Phraya River delta nourishes the nation's vast rice paddies. But Friday, the river and its many tributaries eyed the capital, Bangkok, like a ferocious animal stalking its prey.
Monsoonal rains have flooded Thailand's plains and now the bursting river threatens to drown Bangkok.

@sarumokidesu Monsoon rains. It has been reported ever since it started. Its not the country sinking into the ocean as stupid minded people have been saying. Its simply a massive amount of rain.

I see lots of reports, but nobody seems to be indicating why this is happening. Perhaps the Japanese quake has upset the land mass? I guess a small continental shift downwards, by even a couple of inches would cause this.
