This is my playthrough of the HD remake of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, with live commentary. NOTE: I never played the original MGS2 so this is the first time I am taking a crack at this classic.

i really like this game i love how phil plays but when he is doing the hateful truth he better not bash the game because of him not knowing how to play stealth but im enjoying it can't wait for mgs3 playthrough :D

This playthrough is EVERYTHING that is wrong with dsp these days.The quality of his content has nose dived ever since he lost his job.He just speed plays through everything.There is no care or attention whatsoever to anything he plays anymore.Compare this travesty to his fantastic playthroughs back in 2009. Utterly dire.

This game had to have been one of the greatest bait and switches ever. If people knew that you would play as Raiden for the majority of the game most of us wouldn't have played it.

Of course this game improved over the first, The graphics were VERY improved, he got Harry Gregson Williams to do the music, New game mechanics and physics, the story was more thought provoking, what you say seems to be more based on opinon other than fact.

Only thing I didn't like about MGS 2 was Rose's constant chatter about what day tomorrow is. The relationship of the two characters is nice, it just comes off sappy. Eva and snake in MGS 3 was better IMO. MGS 2 otherwise is a good game, especially near the end.

@noobtubephails woah, what's to hate about Raiden. I actually think Raiden was better than Solid Snake due to his personality to question authority. A plot that didn't make sense until the end? lol that's what ending are for. To wrap up plot lines and make sense to them. Oh, and the game was released in 2001, the same year the PS2 released (or a year later). Most games back then were barely improving from their PS counterparts, case in point Star Fox 64.

@KllopZ he rushes to basically play the next game and be ready for each week's new releases. Like for this week, he needs to rush through MGS3 to get to the FF13-2 playthrough next week, then rush through that to get to the following week's new releases and so on.

@noobtubephails I only agree with the the story being complicated it's really a pain in the ass to figure out, but the game is still good. I don't know what you hate about the hero, I think it was fun to watch a computer soldier trying to be the hero. And the gameplay didn't need too much improvement
