The best way to stabilize as in reduce violence would be for the US forces to end the occupation and leave. The best way to stabilize as in maintain permanent military bases, control geopolitical energy politics, enforce our view of freedom=free market, and keep thousands of laws made during the occupation, is to simply continue what we are doing. idiot, on the geopolitical level all that matters is that the oil barrels are priced in dollars, instead of yen or Euros. It is completely irrelevant that we are "paying them". Its relative currency fluidity and control over other countries economies that matters not literal stealing of resources... do you think we are in colonial times or something?

When you violently invade and indefinitely occupy a foreign country, the first thing to do is give it a local face.
