Go to maps on Google and look up Kahului Airport in Maui, look just above it and you'll see Kiteboarding School Beach, as well as Kanaha Beach Park, which is a popular kite surfing location. That's where it looked like this happened. When I was at Kanaha with a friend who is a local, he said the wind has picked up surfers and thrown them into the trees. It's a dangerous sport.
