James Joseph "Jim" Croce, (January 10, 1943 -- September 20, 1973) was an American singer-songwriter. Between 1960 and 1973, Croce released six studio albums and eleven singles. His singles "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and "Time in a Bottle" were both number one hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts. Croce died in a plane crash at the age of 30.

Maury Muehleisen (January 14, 1949 - September 20, 1973) was an American-born musician, songwriter, and artist best known for his studio work, live accompaniment, and impact on the music of Jim Croce. His unassuming style and exquisite guitar skills were a perfect balance to Croce's seemingly rough-hewn experiences, stage presence, and songwriting style.

  • Jim Croce is alive in heaven, but this song always makes me sad. His music just grabs you and doesnt let go.

  • I distinctly remember this video playing on TV, after he died. I think that it was the first time I'd actually seen him in a video. I remember crying - because of seeing him playing with his little boy like this - and knowing he was gone.

Listening time & time again to Jim's "time in a Bottle" seems just unending - worthy of adulation. I remembered my friends: TonyG & PhilS, playing/singing this tune in the 70s', though gone, both will be reminished in our mind double- - dash, in their special bottle, to keep & never to be forgotten. Sing with Jim in heaven, pare ko!

  • @uyg2008 Very well-put. I hope for the same thing!

  • just simply a very good song.

  • @Medic131313 Maybe one day we will get to meet him and say, "thanks for the music".

  • ... Woops, sorry about the double comment. xD

  • I know saying it can't change anything, but GOD! It's just not fair, y'know?

  • @uyg2008 SO TRUE.
