The general estimate of those who died directly as a result of Chernobyl

is in excess of 150,000.

Chernobyl was in the middle of nowhere - the nearest large city was Kiev -

more than 150 kilometres way.

Fukushima is on a highly densely populated Island with over 100 Million

inhabitants . The effects will be on a colossal scale .

Sad viewing on the Telly last night; the lovely people of Greece have resorted to buying Gold at 'High Street' shops & prices. Is this what we have in front of us in the rest of Europe, when the house of cards that is our Banking system falls apart?

I think i'll be following JB's lead, it'll be tins of corn beef, soup, mince & tatties....NOT GOLD!

When our present banking system does implode --- ' Gold & Silver '

will only have limited uses . The immediate problem will be to feed

yourself & your family . Give me 100 tins of Corned Beef any day .

I can eat some & trade with the rest.

I would like to know if the 100 km radiation zone is true or not? i mean is it right to think that it is all the island who is contaminated? and at which scale?

Thats what went wrong at Copenhagen - there is no agreement on a managed process any more.
