I found this VHS next to a rat's nest on a farm in central France 10 years ago, covered in dirt and cigarette burns. The writing on the label is unintelligible, but basically it catalogues the journey of the Soviet MiGs that the Spirals & Mutoids transported across Europe.
The 'Lost Tribe of MiG' introduce this mash-up of Spiral Tribe & Mutoid Waste footage to the tune 'Forward The Revolution'....

  • All todays Dance scene owes it's entire existence to those Party Crews, like Spirals, & The Mutoids, It is sad that the cost of it all was the Traveller's scene, but that had other factors involved as well. Like Heroin.

Heroin was what had driven the Travellers out of the Cities in the first place, and it was what drove it all back in again in the end.

  • Then it was hilarious, right up until Castlemorton. That was huge!

It was a fucking monster. Splashed across the front pages of the Tabloids, from the air. That was it. They weren't letting this happen again

They changed the Law, with the Public Order Act, and then started the crackdown. Which ended up making it impossible to put big partys on, for free, in fields. So the whole thing ended up in the Clubs. The dance scene is enormous today. Multi-Millions. From the Hacienda, to Ibiza, .

  • @KarmicAnarchist 2 And everyone came away from Westbury, knowing how to set up a big free party illegally, and organize covert logistics. That was the birth of the whole party scene. Hippys, Brew Crew, Mutants, all kinds of Anarchists and nutters.

Then along came Ecstasy, and changed everything forever. Before that, people had to take their chances with LSD. And that could get tricky. The music changed from 'Acid House', (pretty nasty) into all the different subgenres we got today.

  • @killarwatts That's a bit strong mate innit? I was there too, and the only "Jumping on and abusing" I can remember was the Scuffers. I remember the traveller's scene back as far as 1983-4, and while it was very different, it was the same vibe driving everything. We kicked it off in 1985, when we couldn't have our free fessy at 'Henge we took it up to Westbury, White Horse. That lasted 4 or 5 weeks. and eventually fragmented, into about another 7 or 8 big free parties.

  • fuuuuuuuucking wonderfull.

  • free party continues watch?v=fomKMpGXfF4

  • l'origine di tutto i freaks

  • Wow, I have the mixtape of the background music of the first part of the video till 2:19. A friend got that tape on a New Years rave in Berlin from the Spiral tribe in 1993 or 1994. He told me there were old fighter yets in the hall were the party was. Is this footage related to what I just said? Awesome footage anyways.
