Bucky Fuller archivist and historian Bonnie Devarco gives us a whirlwind tour of the current renaissance under way with the convergence of visualization technologies and new ways to visually portray information.

In this final section Bonnie continues to elaborate on the five goals for a Whole Systems Macroscope. She demonstrates how the recent confluence of datavis and geovisualization captures a better understanding of the human impact on Climate Change. She shows examples of a new augmented reality and mobile media tools that use sense data to support collaborative planetary stewardship. And finally, she highlights programs such as Bob Bishop's "CERN for the Environment" ~ International Centre for Earth Simulation (ICES), that bring us to closer to realizing a seamless, dynamic, whole systems view of the living Earth -- A Whole Systems Macroscope.

This presentation was made April 18, 2010 at the Dream Inn, in Santa Cruz, California, as the opening talk at the Design Renaissance Conference. designrenaissance.net Her talk was later edited, with additional graphics and animations added for further elucidation of her presentation.
