Good info Scott. Thank you for helping those that aren't well versed in the dark side of using their computers. It's not that they have to be able to perform those functions we find injurious but just knowing we don't have to be victims. I worked for the GA. Dept. of Corrections for 8 years and I learned about the criminal mind first hand. Obviously I wasn't into crime but I can understand the mind of such people.

just rename taskmanager to iexplore and kill the process, then use the malwarebytes

is spyware doctor safe, it didnt come with scareware i just wanted downloaded it and i just wanted to know if it was safe.

I did this in VMWare with McAfee and it removed scareware too...

I can't get on the internet in either safe mode, because it won't allow me, and regular mode because of the scareware. How do I download the program?

@xPray3rx You will need another computer and a flash drive. You can install malwarebytess in safe mode.

I have scareware on my laptop and avast antivirus. Managed to get avast to scan but it said there was no threat detected! Can I upload malwarebytes when in safemode? So I can scan and remove?

@u40kc Yes, malwarebytes will install and update in safety mode.

I have AVG Spyware etc.... Why doesn't it protect me from Scareware?

@bigtiny200 AVG spwyare will protect you from almost all known spyware/malware. No product is 100% safe because new versions of malware are being released everyday on the internet. Having spyware is on the best things you can to protect yourself online.
