Ah Haa . . . Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys doing "Roly Poly," a 1946 Columbia Records release all about "daddy's little fatty." "Roly Poly, eatin' corn n' taters, hungry every minute of the day." A real Western Swing classic. I can't think of another song that hits on a similar subject . . .

  • The fiddle is my grandpa! LOL

  • Lead guitar is the late, great Jimmy Wyble who also played with Benny Goodman and Red Norvo. Trumpet is Alex Brashear. Steel guitar is Noel Boggs. Piano...sounding rather Basie-like...is Millard Kelso. Does this record COOK or what???? :-)
