FDR didn't have the same policies as Hoover. That's an oversimplification similar to saying George W. had the same policies as Reagan (in theory, they believed in similar things). FDR did a LOT of things different.

No one can say for certain there wouldn't have been a depression without gov't involvement. There isn't adequate information.

People realizing the market recovering is different than it recovering...

that videos no good. for an honest assessment, you need to compare numbers under obama with numbers under another president during recession. most recent example would be reagans first 4 years (not all 8, because obama hasnt been in office 4 yrs yet).

Govt spend X-amount of money. Under Obama, the amount being spent is shrinking. Trouble is, govt collects X-amount of money... since the economy stinks and all the tax-cuts (for almost all tax brackets) keep keeping extended, the amount of money being collected has fallen off a cliff. That's why the deficit looks like shit. You could say we spend too much, but the big change has been that the govt isn't taking nearly as much in.

lets see, democrats pass a bill signed by clinton that forces banks to give risky loans. the housing bubble had to form before it could burst, that takes a while, and by then we have different people in charge. then this guy thinks that just because bush was in charge when the bubble bursts that automatically makes it the republicans fault, nevermind what caused the bubble in the first place. cenk is as bad as fox news.
