I don't want to start a fight on here, but I'd like to know why people have their dogs ears cut up? For the record I really do like dobermans - they're exremley elegant dogs and good with kids. It's a shame ignorant people brand them as some kind of "devil dog".

@MrBoggy100 thats a valid question, from what ive heard, not only does it make the dog "look more fierce" but enhances their hearing allowing more air or some crap, and also because a large percent of dobes use to be working dogs, it decreased the chance of people grabbing/ getting grip on there ears. oh yeah and it decreases the chance of ear infections. but the chances are as high as a lab getting them.
personally i dont mind cropped ears, but i prefer them natural.

I'm picking up my male dobe puppy in 3 weeks, he's getting his ears done this friday, I think it looks better and that's the original way it was done, I also live in a neihborhood that's getting worse day by day, I want him to look intimidating. If you don't like it ok, if you do that's ok too... to each his own.

Personally I don't agree with cutting dobies ears, but it isn't that pain full for the dog, hurts them almost as much as doing a ear piercing. Takes about 10/15 days to heal actually.

They were fully posted from May to September, and from then to November kept up with a Breathe Right strip and glue. Now they're naked and standing up very nicely.
