Lynn Minmay IS the legend in the Macross Universe. Nekki Basara, Sheryl Nome, Myung Fang Lone, Ranka Lee, Mylene F. Jenius, Wendy Rider, and the Milky Dolls have all had their inspiration from Lynn Minmay. Ranka is ok, but Minmay was the one who first sang the song and it is heavily associated with her next to the legendary Ai Oboete Imasu Ka? Ranka sure liked to cover Minmay's songs though.

I am always a bit surprised more people don't compare Ranka's version to Mylene's rather than Minmay's. The music is almost directly based on Mylene's more techno version rather than Minmay's sweeter one. As to vocals, I would have to say I find Minmay and Mylene a bit more appealing though that is personal taste.

Minmay is great but Ranka just radiates so much more cuteness!!! It fits the song better. Minmay is more the classic beauty.
