    i dont think ive seen a turbo with that much play!

    fit a bigger one and go for a 20 percent increase!

  • On my Renault - powered Volvo 440, the wastegate has failed to remove surplus air and because of this, the engine overrevved and the car was propelling itself forward without throttle upto 135mph and the conrods failed and smashed their way out of the cylinder block and buggering the cambelt, which was replace 3,000 miles before.

  • Wow that turbo does need rebuilding. Look at how much movement on that shaft! I'm surprise this wasn't detected much earlier. That could have been worse and could have damage the blade and the housing. Nice little lesson by the way.
