1) The bill is only for 2000 acres because advanced drilling techniques allow for one oil platform to reach oil over a vast area.
2) Who is going to be standing in ANWR? No one , I repeat NO ONE goes to ANWR, it is a frozen tundra.
3) Even if this is some ill-conceived republican plot to destroy the natural beauty of ANWR, then why don't you just fight any proposal after the first 2000 acres are granted?

What he's not saying is that the way they figure that 2000 acres will lead to drilling wells spread over almost the entire area. You will hardly be able to stand anywhere in ANWR and not see a drilling well. Just look at a map of where their proposing wells and it's stagering how many there are.
