Is this game really on par or better than BG Series??? I might pick it up.

It really depends on which aspects of BG you liked. Planescape has a far superior story - the storytelling is superb, but there's a lot of it. If you aren't willing to read, a lot, you probably won't enjoy it. If you're the type to skip dialogue to get back to the combat, you will not like Torment. The combat is a very, very minor part of the game (and is for the most part either completely avoidable or trivial in difficulty). If you look at it like an interactive novel, it's fantastic.

hmm I love BG2 for its story, but its balance for combat as well. The tactics involved and the difficulty.

Well, combat in torment doesn't involve much skill - it's mostly a matter of point-and-click, even if you choose to play as a mage. It's the story that's fantastic, like Joudas says. That, and the intense atmosphere. I'm personally also a fan of the BG series, but while it and Planscape: Torment share the same game engine, they are very different from each other.

This game is great. One of the best RPG's ever.

HOWEVER.... It is also incredibly old too. If you buy it, make sure to download all the mods for it.

They give it better resolution, fix text to center of screen (so its not forced to left of screen) and cures some bugs. Much improves the game.

But the game anyways.. Honestly a sweet RPG. "What can change the Nature of a Man?"
