It's still impossible for me to pronounce the "R" is it like the japanese "r" or more like "j" I can make the difference between the zh ch sh when they are followed by a vowel.

bro i dont blame you man.. i been busting my ass out trying to learn these pinyin pronunciation but i can't pronounce the R either... bah its difficult.

it's a very subtle difference...think of how the zh and ch is pronounced in English when they say it, and when you try to say it. That might help.
