A Conversation with Gen. David Petraeus

Gen. David H. Petraeus, commander of U.S. Central Command, engaged in an open dialogue at Vanderbilt University March 1, 2010, about his actions as commander of the surge in Iraq and the role of U.S. forces overseas.

The event was a conversation between Petraeus and Mike Newton, Vanderbilt professor of the practice of law. Newton is a West Point graduate who is an international legal adviser to the Iraqis and was one of the small team of international experts who taught them international criminal law and assisted with the trials. The conversation was sponsored by the International Legal Studies Program and the College of Arts and Science.

So maybe General Petraeus doesn't have political ambitions ... but can America have those ambitions on his behalf? Can we sneak David's name onto the ballot somehow and "surprise" him by electing him as president in 2012? Wouldn't that be funny ... if we "accidentally" got him elected without him even knowing it? The guy who knows what's going on everywhere? Playing a practical joke on General Strategist?

Miracles are possible. I say let's go for it.

General Mchrystal was good too. I think both Generals are men class and personality. Just the way they look you can see that there men fit for there jobs. I just wish they run for president some day.
