@ginjaninja1988 Evolution & Self preservation is the way of the world. This old style may be okay for a single engagement but will not work in the long run. Let me pose this question to you tho. What good would the operator be if he still had not met his objective and needs to be removed from the fight do to injury? Safe is the way to go. Keep your self in one piece. Toxic shock is another thing no one ever thinks of. That my friend will kill you quick. Just MPO But I think this is far from good

@stonepearce The thing is these techniques were not created in the age of modern warfare. They were perfected by the Cossaks in the days when almost every man carried a knife or sword and men fought with bladed weapons on the battlefield. These techniques work because they are just natural movement practiced over and over again until it becomes natural reaction in fast speed and even if the guy manages to stab u.... then u keep fighting and finish him off.. then deal with ur wound.

I must say the US. Army knife fighting stile is so different from this. Not to say that this is a bad way but this method has much more self sacrifice in it. (Risky) But then again any one that's had advanced hand to hand knows that if your using your knife or your fixing your bayonet your probably fucked anyways.
