Al Jazeera reports that more than one million South African state workers have gone on strike for wage increases, a move that threatens to paralyze Africa's biggest economy.
Schools closed early on Wednesday as teachers met to discuss the walkout, while strikers, dressed in red T-shirts, gathered outside hospitals and government offices.
Said Fikile Majola, general secretary of the National Education Health and Allied Workers Union, ""The strike is indefinite. It will go on until there has been an improvement, until the government delivers on our demands.
Among those on strike are police, healthcare workers, teachers and customs officials. Skeleton staffing will tide over essential services in the meantime.
@TheBlueflower07 what a disgusting thing to say to someone just because they foster an opinion that's different to yours?! I pity you.

And so South Africa continues to burn and become like Zimbabwe. Soon the economy will crash leaving many more people without pay increases.
