I want to say thanks to this man for pointing out a blatant injustice. Coach Wittingham and his staff, as well as Brian Johnson and his teammates, worked incredibly hard and did not receive half of the recognition they deserve. They went undefeated. They dominated Alabama. BCS voters ADMITTED THAT THEY DID NOT WATCH MANY OF UTAH'S GAMES. The system is broken and prejudiced.

So am I, especially since the character count gave me hell typing all that. To this day, as a life long Ute fan I am still sick of the BCS and the favoritism they have for other schools. Atleast in a playoff system we can say that they are not the best team if they lose, but in the current way of doing things in the BCS, they are without a doubt the best team in the country.

How would you say that a team like BYU is a second rate school when they have "run the table" before. They won the National Championship in '85 I believe it was, and still is considered 2nd class. BYU was 11-1 when they lost to Utah and Utah destroyed THEM. TCU I believe was 10-2 when Utah beat them. Alabama was 12-1 before Utah anhilated them. Don't give me this crap that Utah didn't play anybody good. They had a much tougher schedule than it looked. Utah needs more games on ESPN to be noticed.

Exactly. We need a system that judges quality by performance, not committee opinion. In other words, a playoff system needs to be incorporated and the voting system disbanded. I can FEEL that a team is bad and vote against them, but a real system proves me wrong. You don't vote on performance!!! For crying out loud.

Im not much of a dedicated fan to any team. With that being said, I believe Utah should've either gotten a number 1 ranking or a chance to play Florida. I also believe that the argument that Utah played mediocre teams is vague and irrelevant because if you're in Division 1, you're playing the best of the best, despite how big and small the school is. The problem is, just like Boise State a few years back or even Auburn back in 2004, the school must generate enough revenue for ratings.
