@Nick1944: Cont'ed - The US certainly did it's share of fighting in the Pacific, but you also need to remember that the bulk of the Japanese Imperial Army was being slowly driven back through the junlges of Burma by British and Commonwealth forces - General William Slim took the surrender of 500,000 Japanese at Mandalay in 1945.
The US played it's part in WWII...as did everybody else involved! And let's be honest here, we all owe alot to The Soviets for the final victory.

Which? During the war of Independence, Americans didn't at that point exist. And what is the other? The war of 1812? The US attempted to occupy Canada and was kicked out. The US did not win that war.

this is amazing and justly called the greatest raid of all time i hope to follow in there footsteps some day soon and become on of the elites which we now call Royal Mariens, an amazing feet 300 v 5k an impossible mission but they did it
the greatest raid of all time was Medway 1667. The Dutch lost 50 Marines while sinking or burning 13 English ships, as well as taking with them 2 others
