  • nandan nilekani has a point--individuals should be honest in their day to day dealings--give no bribe ,accept no bribe--apart from a good lok pal bill we also need strong moral appeal for citizens to be more patriotic in carrying out day to day duties--i write stories against corruption by middle rung employees--so a wider perspective is more important --one should work within existing democratic system to fight corruption

  • Sensible, clear and forward looking Talk by Nandan..sure It will not resonate well with anarchy loving and non democratic folks..

  • MR. NILEKANI WE ARE HUMANS AND WE ARE INDIAN CITIZENS, ORIGINAL INHABITANTS OF THIS LAND!! WE DONT NEED ANY OTHER PROOF!! YOU ARYANS CAME FROM CENTRAL ASIA AND RULED THIS LAND FOR SO LONG AND THE PROOF IS IN YOUR JEANS YOUR DNA!!!!!!!

  • Wow... She tried so many times to put words in his mouth... he tackled lot of them very well and at times... he agreed to her (when he contradicted himself later...) ... very interesting discussion... Nandan Nilekani ... all the best... but mera india jara jyadahi corrupt hai sir :( ... it hurts!!

  • CNN---- Congress National Network

  • I just cant believe his political way of putting the things in pessimistic perspective. The magic bullet came in to action with extreme effort of honest people like Anna, is absolutely beginning of the systematic changes our country should be bringing in and Every Indian voice it with full support.

His respect for politicians is ludicrous as politicians shuld stand as an example to serve people in best way, but in our country they are most corrupted and making millions under them more corruptd.

  • Considering what has been said from 8.50 onwards and especially at 10.28 it would be interesting if there was a follow up interview on the Standing Committee's report delivered today

  • Part 4

    4. To say you have worked with politicians and find them honest...

let me just tell you a quote from a journalist who was meeting a leader accused of killing thousands - & he said "in person he appeared to be charm personified himself"

Same goes for these politicians who may charm the wits out of you in person, but it will boggle your mind at their stomach & capacity for corruption. One needs to be extremely petty to get power, be a politician. Humble good men rarely promote themselves

  • Part 3

So, while I respect your opinion in saying that 'the agitation is unnecessary when the matter is before the standing committee' - I respectfully disagree.

As stated below - the intentions of the govt were very suspect from their actions. And just because you were impressed with the standing committee, and you give them a clean-chit - we have our own reasons to do the opposite.

    Continued in Part 4...

  • Part 2

    3. The agitation and movement was 100% necessary - because if you followed the development of events astutely you would instantly know how the govt have been using all sorts of tactics to deter the movement and the Lokpal bill.

    - They refused to even debate & discuss the issues (outrageous)

    - Presented a hilarious, extremely weak bill

    - Allegations against members (tapes & CD's)

    - Arresting Anna, not letting him agitate

    - Banning bulk sms

The intentions of govt were clearly evident
