HYENA- Forgotten Predator

The Spotted Hyena is a terrestrial carnivore native to Africa. They, like their enemies the lion, are a top predator and an animal worth protecting. Predators like the lion, hyena, and tiger help keep their ecosystems balanced and healthy. Protecting their habitats will ensure us all a better planet.

Hyena are very interesting and VERY efficient. Why do you think their poo is white?. It's because they only leave the bones.

Ever since "The Lion King" Hyenas have gotten a bed rep. I love the big cat week series and all, but I hoping that someone will narrate and follow hyenas for weeks at a time. You're in the right direction.

If there's such thing as "evil" in the animal kingdom, hyenas are deserving candidates. I love watching videos of big male lions jumping on a pesky hyena. If they were native to my part of the world, I'd do my best to hunt them to extinction. Oh well, as long as they don't come here, I'll stay out of Africa. I sure wish that would work for all these stinking temporary workers from Sudan.
