While I doubt these honor killing gave Sexual pleasure I do think that "Honor" and "Religion" are an appropriate cover

Are we to believe these people got a "sexual" gratification from their actions?
If that were the case, that could be considered a positive effect, but their actions had NO positive effect on anything or anyone.

I agree that there is no honor in these murders. I heard about this story and I really have a hard time understanding how these men could do this to their own flesh and blood.

I guess that psychotic religious beliefs and societal pressures overrides any kind of familial bond of loyalty. Religion is stronger than anything else here, even stronger than the parent child bond.
