The gene bank where Ken Street works is ICARDA.

Its a public funded agricultural research station whose aim is to provide better varieties of food to alleviate poverty in developing countries - in particular those that live in harsh dry places.

The seed bank is funded by numerous governments and philanthropic trusts across the world.
