In a marathon session, I apply all six layers of Brawny's paper mache. I used stop motion pro for the time lapse, brown craft paper, Roman Brand premixed wallpaper paste, Vaseline, water, and patience. In the beginning I draw lines with a sharpie marker on one side of the paper. Then tear the factory cut edges off. I rip the paper into workable pieces and keep all of the lined sides facing up. I dip a piece into a bucket of water, crumple it in the water to loosen its fibers, then squeeze it and ring it out. i then unfold the wet paper and lay it flat in my left hand. I dip the fingers of my right hand into the wallpaper paste, and spread it onto both sides of the paper in my left hand. I then tear smaller pieces off of that and apply it. The lines I drew earlier help me keep track of how many layers I've done and what sections have not had a layer applied, by laying each layer identically. Layer 1: lines up, layer 2: lines down, etc. Use very small pieces where there is more detail like the face. Slightly larger pieces can be used where there is less detail. Don't apply all of the layers in the same direction, be sure to overlap the edges, and apply all layers evenly. I stretched the time lapse frames in Premiere Elements to make it the same size as my earlier videos. Hopefully it won't lose resolution.

  • how did you stick the head on the wood so securely?

  • @bellobeast95 Thanks for watching! It's attached with lag screws from underneath the plywood base, and the heads of the lags were countersunk so the thing would sit flat and easily pivot.

  • Amazing vid! I was wondering if you are willing to make a mask for me for a price? Please look at the video "universal mind control" here on YouTube. Please tell me your thoughts. Thanks.

  • @digitalmaniak Hi! Thanks for watching. I watched that video you recommended, at least I think I watched the right one. I'd be interested in discussing your mask project. Just so you know, the mask in that video is pretty elaborate. Such an intricate design would definitely effect the price. Send me a private message with what exactly you're looking for, and we can talk it over. Thanks again for watching.

  • i can't believe i watched the whole thing

  • awesome vid and awesome mask! there is a lot of bad videos and terrible masks on youtube, with higher views... every body rate!

  • Great vid! I make commedia-style half masks. You can use newspaper and watered down white glue for a cheaper (but just as effective, I think) paper mache... Looking through all your other uploads now...
