In this video i am presenting you the diagnostic of an X5 crystalyte hub motor having problem with hall sensor... and yes... it' an intermittent problem......
Heat ?... age of the hall sensor?.. stressed hall sensor? Wire skin damage?.... That's what i am trying to discover. Usually repairing hub motor is really quick and sinpler than it appear... but this time this one is playing with my patience a little bit...=)

  • Hey Doctorbass, have you solved this issue yet? if not, just out of curiosity, do you have a sensorless controller you can try to run the motor on to see if the juddering still happens? Seems wierd if all the halls were firing corectly still even when at or over 100C?

  • @1980TheRealFury Porblem solved... it was like usuall... the hall sensor wires that was bad...

  • Hi, How can i reverse the turning direction from a 5303 Crystalyte?

    Hall effect sensor connector from Motor : 5pins

    From : 1. Red + 2. Black + 3.Yellow + 4.Green + 5.Blue ==》 1.Red + 2.Black + 3.Green + 4.Yellow + 5.Blue

    Doesnt work......

  • @goldocoasto Since there is many different company with their own configuration, I do trial and error until i get the right direction.. it take around5 minutes to test all the possibility... try first with changing the phase wire of the motor... and if it dont work try with the 3 wires of the hall sensor connector ( yellow blue and green)

  • Pity controller doesn't have diagnostics. Might be easier to test the halls when bike has failed by turning the wheel to see if halls are firing. Other than that you might have check resistance windings to determine if shorting.

  • @0urGaia Yes, I have also tested thh hall at the exact moment when the problem occured and i saw that there was two hall blink at the same time.

    I also tested the inductance of the winding and got around 500uH +/- 50uH on all 3 phase meaning that they are ok.

  • What did you use to protect the motor from rusting is it a standard primer that you are using or something else?

  • @Doctorbass Hello, I tryed combining the hall sensor cables. I could change the direction with more than 3 diferent combination. And also there are some combinations with phase wires. But i couldnt get the right one. It makes more noise and it is not strong. I have to find the right combination with phase and hall wires i think? What do you think?

  • Excellent video! Thanks for posting!

  • Very nice tool i had one of those !

  • @Doctorbass there are couple posibilities to run it in one direction. It makes more noisy and maybe even not eficient. I think i have to change green yellow blue to blue yellow green and also change the hot phase.

  • @Doctorbass

    there seems to be problem with the forum i got nothing. now that i think about it i haven't got any updates at all :(

    ill see whats up
