sorry i am late, yes mine well is now in a cabinet shelf, approx 10cm ventilaton. I dont know about the Cambridge and the heat, really like my V8X also.
-
I have just bought one. It doesnt seem to get very hot though. I used to have the v6x and it got hot. Makes me wonder if there is something wrong with it. My Cambridge 640r gets hotter just idling in 2 channel listening than this does.
The bass seems looser as well.
A ton of dynamic power though.

@SammyMac I want your amp! Wait, no, I don't...I already have one...ahem...not a Technics V8X(!!!), but we are in recession. haha..I will continue to watch videos of your amp. Post them up! :)

I have a lot more now , have to post video soon. I have there Marantz CD50SE (modifed) cd player, Technics ST-610 tuner, and on the bottom playing is a Sony CDP-761E cd player. The Technics V8X does come up on ebay much, so pretty rare,

It's great amplifer, runs pretty warm and has a beautiful clear sound, now running with my peerless speakers, and agree loads of clean power is on hand, and i watch my speakers also dont want to fry them

I don't think we ever got that model here in the US. We always get crap here. What else is there on your shelf? What are the specs on your CD player? I can't tell what the other components are.

I have this same amplifier, absolutely awesome, Bought it from a man whose speakers he caught on FIRE with sheer DC power. Ultra clean and loads of power, a very fine amp. Use mine with Klipsch K-horns with a sound as good as or better than a live stadium.
That's a VERY nice amplifier, sir!
