In this short clip we're in a paddock surrounded by over 400 head of cattle with Joel Salatin of Polyface farm (where we harvest our halal/zabiha cattle for Green Zabiha) just having a good time. For those who have not been in many ranches, you may not fully appreciate how amazingly tame these cows were. Typically they run away, in this case they surrounded us!

Joel moves his cattle daily to new paddocks, a method called rotational grazing, or management intensive grazing. The cattle do not receive any hormones, antibiotics, de-worming or vaccines (the latter two are quite uncommon to find even in organic ranches!). Joel also is a pioneer in 'natural pattern farming' whereby he mimics nature on his farm so that different animals are living symbiotically with one another. Essentially the farm is treated as a single vibrant organism.

We have some additional videos and footage, but wanted to get something out there in the meantime. We spent quite some time there and had a lively discussion.
