The 480p option has disappeared? That's strange.
I guess this no longer applies:
Better in 480p! Just choose 480p from the list located near the bottom-right corner of the video. Thanks!

This is a test fly-through of a scene I created in Cinema 4D.

At first I was going purely for realism, but instead added some things for the "eye candy" effect. I'd like to hear what everyone thinks. Keep in mind this is really a test render, which is why it begins/ends abruptly. It's meant to be a visual test, with some music added to make it more enjoyable.

(I made the visuals, but of course, I did NOT make the music!)
The song is "True Loves First Kiss" by Harry Gregson Williams from the soundtrack of the movie "Shrek".

For those of you who want to know how I made the stars I wrote how to in the comments. I'll copy and paste what I wrote, here:
For the ones that are close to the camera: I think that they were simply a disc in a MoGraph cloner in grid mode with a random effector to move them around randomly. Then the cloner is made editable and 'look at camera' tags are applied to all the discs so that they're always facing the camera (Might take some tweaking of the axis of the discs to get them to face the camera right). The result should be stars like in this video when the shader is applied For the ones in the far distance I think I layered multiple starfield images on top of one another with various blend modes in the color and/or luminance channel of the shader. And then applied the shader to a skydome.

Rendering Time:
About an hour and a half

Software:
Cinema 4D R11 Studio Bundle XL with Advanced Render
After Effects (For sharpening and solar flare)

Specs:
AMD Athlon x2 4800+ Dual Core 64-bit
2 GBs DDR2 RAM
XFX Nvidia 8600 GT XXX
Windows XP Pro SP2

  • I saw that the stars were close to Earth ... the only star reachable by man right now is the sun ... so, thats something that needs fixed, but that was awesome! (Everything can be fixed, done better, and/or restored.)

  • This is by far the best one i've seen. Can I please use this for an intro for my new montage that i'm making? Reply back!

  • wow, kudos to you, nice job
