I don't see how the French can taste anything. With all the smoking they do, you'd think they'd all burned out their taste buds.

The old boot cant help being rude.... She's French!
She is probably upset that an english man just made her fave dish quicker and better then herself.

He could've owned that old cow if he'd made her favorite dish, English style.

That would really have pissed her off!

On the TV show right after this scene ends the French woman shows how to really cook it and Floyd plays a Stranglers tune (Northern Irish pre punk band) and the camera man zooms in and out on her as to the beat of the music. I dosen't get an better.

The french dont like when you do THEIR cuisine, esp the old dears. She had her mind made up before she tried it. I am a chef in france and know this reaction only too well!
Keith says "Its lovely"
She said "Really? I doubt it. Im going to try to taste it but its difficult because i seen the way you made it. It doesnt give me the desire to taste it because its truly not great. You understand? Translate!"
Pause at 0:19 - Look at that face! Haha! This is going in my favourites! Poor old keith!

Forget the cooking, if you speak French to them with a British or US accent, then you might as well be emasculating them! There's nothing that insults them more than a Yank speaking their sacred tongue with his own accent:
"Jeh voodray oon cart postal poor eetad yoonese, see voo play."

I'll never forget the look on her face. I wasn't sure if she was shocked (that I spoke fluent French), pissed off, or just being a "canard."
