I can not believe the rudeness of some of the comments here about Mr Benn. He is one of the most inspiring, most GENUINE, compassionate, selfless & kind hearted human beings we have ever known. He is a scholar and an old fashioned gentleman, of FAR GREATER intelligence and humanity than probably ANY of his detractors posting infantile comments on here.

That man, responsible for 100.000 (and growing) of deaths of civilians feels he has the moral right to tell President Putin (surely not an ideal man) how to rule multinational Russia! He's a total moron if he wants to apply those 'let them kill each other' principles to Russia.

- Tony Blair chose the latter. Why? You thought it was about oil? Oh no, it was because of his passion for spreading his view that all countries should be freed: even if they consisted of two ethnicities out to kill each other!

Tony Benn forgets that after the 1997 victory for his party (under Blair) this country voted in 2001 & 2005 for Blair again despite Iraq. Benn's gathering in Trafalgar Square means nothing in comparison. Benn's son has more sense & served under Blair and is now in Brown's cabinet too. Benn Snr knows no more than you & I about "the truth" over WMD "lies". I TRUST my government! Benn the CNDer! Still in the Labour fold!! Thank God for Tony - Blair , that is!

The truth about WMDs is that there were no WMDs and that there was no evidence for WMDs at any point. That is the truth. If you still believe Blair even though the WMD lie has been exposed then you are a fool. The only evidence for WMDs has been shown to be fabricated. Yet you still believe Blair.

What a stupid, stupid comment. It is perfectly legal to pay an expert to ensure you pay the tax due according to the law. Do you volunteer to pay Gordon 'Stalin' Brown extra money? Of course you don't. I've read things Tony Benn has writen and I've seen things you have writen. To be honest in the fool stakes it's not looking good for you mate ...

I worked for British Leyland when Tony Benn and Lord Stokes ran the Company, they were the men who finished the British Motor car Industry.

There were plenty of work shy workers who were too blame for the destruction of the British car industry as well. Including those that refused to accept new technology and working practices. It simply came down to the fact that British built cars were expensive and shit compared to most cars coming out of Japan. I would love to drive British but Japanese means I never have to worry about breaking down.
