5:10 am, January 3, 2012: Occupy protesters in Phoenix Square, Fredericton, were woken and told to leave their Charter guaranteed protest site. Several protesters were present and at least one was injured when city crews were forced to dismantle the camp. Two of the protesters were also evicted into homelessness when they were deprived of their improvised shelter. The group feels the removal of the camp was to deprive them of the ability to engage in a protest the Mayor recently revealed he was opposed to. Rather than seek lawful court injunction, Mayor Woodside bypassed unions and ordered the crew to violate the rights of Fredericton citizens. The unionized crew were unable to confer with their president on this matter. Occupy Fredericton plans to defend their right to protest through official legal channels.
maybe you should have stayed in Halifax, you guys seem really upset and hurt with all the giggling and everything. Any excuse to be on camera.
