My pentium 4 HT 560 prescott 478 is working just fine with stock cooling, was playing Unreal Tournament 3 maxed out :)

You have heat problems, I don't. Also if your adding a graphics card intel recomends at least one case fan.
-
@ikilluish ok that one is hard to belive...

At the end the video tells you to avoid 3rd party motherboards and coolers and the video only shows you how bad the stock cooler is, wtf.

Stock fans generally suck balls. I'd always recommend 3rd party, especially if you're overclocking. The heat sinks that are placed directly on top of the cpu offer a lot of air resistance, so they aren't really that good (like the one in the video). Get one that distances itself a little from the cpu, that way you get less air resistance = better cooling and less noise.

intel sux :D :)

I have an Intel Pentium 4 in a Dell Dimension 2350 with a custom noiseless fan and stays at 38, 39 Celcius.. And it's running Windows 7

Well, nice. Only 38°c? Well you lucky bastard! My pentium 4 goes up to 117°c. And it's still running. Pm me for a pic.

I disagree with the "Avoid 3rd party motherboards and 3rd party coolers" conclusion. I used both on a Pentium 4 3.2GHz and got 29C idle temperatures and loads in the 50s, and get this, it was overclocked at 4.5GHz. Granted, it was a 65nm Prescott (which is actually a Cedarmill), I have to think it was a combination of a hot running sample, no rear exhaust fans (even though the system temperature was in line), badly applied paste, and a stock cooler that brought this situation about here.

stock fan, thermal paste applied since 5 months, temperature 42°C idle, 60-70 under full load, never higher than that.
Man you should learn how to edit a video properly. The program name seems to be "Free...(something else)"
only test
