The U.K.'s Teen Now magazine (via Oh No They Didn't) asked the guys if they were going to stay virgins until they got married. "No," Nick Jonas, 16, said. "That was something that got taken out of hand and that we wanted to keep to ourselves." "Those rings are just to show that we have solid values in life," Joe, 19, said. Joe explained to Details last year that the rings are "promises to ourselves and to God that we'll stay pure till marriage." "Pure," obviously, implies abstinence. It's not like they're gonna get married and start freebasing heroin. So doesn't it make you wonder what's happened in the last year to make them change their minds? It's possible they could only withstand underwear being thrown at them for so long and had to make some ethical compromises.


The Jonas Brothers were put on the spot at the MTV Video Music Awards when host Russell Brand joked that they were wasting their rock star allure. "They can have sex with any woman they want but they choose not to," he said. "That's like Superman deciding not to fly and to go everywhere by bus." If everyone waited until they were married and only slept w/ their mate, STD's would almost drop completely away.
