Diana Frances Spencer was born into the British aristocracy, the youngest daughter of Edward John Spencer, Viscount Althorp, later John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, and his first wife, Frances Spencer, Viscountess Althorp (formerly the Honourable Frances Burke Roche). She was born at Park House, Sandringham in Norfolk, England. She was baptised at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham, by Rt. Rev. Percy Herbert (rector of the church and former Bishop of Norwich and Blackburn); her godparents included John Floyd (the chairman of Christie's).

Man...she looked like her mother!...her mother was beautiful as well
in fact...all the spencers are beautiful!!!...too bad there is only the 3 siblings and their children....Charles,Sarah and Jane....Diana died too young and their parents died.

She may have come from a very wealthy aristiocratic family but judging from these home movies, Diana seemed to have a perfectly normal childhood like any other little girl.

Actually her mother tried desperately to get custody of the children but she was refused. She was devastated, apparently. Her ex husband created many difficulties (unsurprisingly, in the circumstances).
