Travelling Reading Room

The Travelling Reading Room aims in the promotion of cultural education. A temporary space set in different locations around the country (up to 6 months) in relation to cultural and educational institutions. It allows users to freely access art and design related publications, read or browse through at their own time and enjoy events and talks in the evening.
The design is simple and clear consisting basically of a set of ramps allowing for circulation as well as sitting around the spinal book display-literally and metaphorically the main bearing element of the structure. The overall transparency allows for visibility and relation to each setting environment while a perimetric system of green hued panels allows the user to create his preferable shade thus resulting to an everchanging building envelope.
