A lovely song written and done by Darren Hayes himself. He wrote it for Backstreet Boys.

Enjoy it ^_^

JCChasezlover645: Yep, he's the same guy from Savage Garden ;)

P.S: Just msg me if anyone wants the mp3 format for this song ;) Unless if it illegel so someone MUST warn me :)

  • i had no idea until recently that this song existed. amazing. anyone know where i can get guitar tabs for it?

  • Thanks for the comment(and everyone else aswell). Sorry, can't help you in this. Wish I could :(

  • Well...you can't deny that the lyrics are beautiful but...seroiously...the Backstreet Boys version is so much better!...and I do like Darren Hayes but I think this song is just not his best performance...I strongly recommend the Backstreet Boys version...if you are interested...by the way...BSB rocks!!!!

KTBSPA! (I'm not saying this 'cause I'm a BSB fan...I honestly think their version is better!)

  • I totally respect your comment, as everyone have his/her own opinion about what others like ;) but only with unharmful words

Anyways, thanks for your comment my friend :)

  • agree.........!

  • hehe.... no comments on this :p

  • both versions are great, but Darren will always be my favorite singer

  • Just to correct - Darren Hayes did not write the song for Backstreet Boys. He wrote it for the album SPIN but it didn't make the cut. For some years he had promised Olivia Newton-John that he would write HER a song, but unfortunately he hadn't so he ended up doing this one on with her on the album "(2) duets". Later... Backstreet Boys were allowed to use it or it was givin to them or whatever. That's how the story's supposed to be. ;)

For you Darren fans out there.

  • @TheBabyDoze No, actually it was only mentioned in the Never Gone press release that a song by Darren Hayes would be on the album, but then a new press release was issued, and the song was not mentioned and didn't make the cut. I am the one who got this song (the BSB version) and put it on the internet. Not an official release or anything. It took a lot of effort to get the track as well.

  • @SunnyDorough have u heard the version with darren and olivia newton john? omg talk about awesome!

  • lovely song, one of my favourites :)

  • @SunnyDorough This is just a demo version of Lift Me Up. The only final studio version that exists is the duet with Olivia Newton John. That might have something to do with your preference....

  • Darren Hayes and BSB, both So Beautiful voice!

  • This is my favorite BSB song ever, so thank you Darren Hayes!

  • <3

  • Backstreet Boys Pfffffffffffffffffffffffft not a patch on Mr Hayes! <3 My Favorite Sound <3 xx

  • I like his duet with Olivia Newton John.

  • Darren did not write it for the bsb. He wrote this for his own album "Spin" but it didn't make the cut for release, Darren however had promised to write a song for Olivia Newton-John and became a duet appearing on the Olivia Newton-John album (Two). Backstreet Boys recorded a version for their limited edition album "Never Gone" but was never endorsed as an official track and was removed from all official releases later.
