I've made one with a small 2 stroke engine directly coupled to a car alternator. It gives aboiut 10 amps but the rpm is very unstable. I think I need to gear the drive down from engine to alterntor to give more torque at a lower rpm. Yours however seems to run very well!
Just keep an eye out for alt temp! I don't run a fan at all and never had a problem How ever if you are running the engine while drawing off the bat> with a inverter the alt will get hot. I have a temp gun and just make sure you keep it under 250 degrees to be safe!
looke great I did it with a horosontal shaft, too heavy but I used two 6v. deep cycle wired in series to get 12v. to go off grid, works well.
