  • Yeah, but for birding, they are really unnecesary, and the optics of zoom binoculars tend to be of inferior quality compared with fixed power.

  • But they are good for animal, aircraft viewing. I use 30x zoom binoculars, they focus quite well at 30x. I can hold it still enough without tripod. It is big and heavy but that hasnt bothered me too much. I do agree that a powerful zoom on a small pocket binocular is not much good, but on a large bino it is quite impressive.

  • zoom binoculars are useless for birding.
