Klasse.

1- Best sounds on Youtube. Great Job! Best regards from Brazil.
2- This engines uses a AVGAS 115/145?

@malcauskas7 The 1000 hp engine is certified to use unleaded automibile gas here in Finland. It makes sense when you know how much more expensive avgas is here and the engine consumes some 200 liters per hour!

@ilkkatapio Great country. Here in Brazil we pay 2.66 usd per liter of Avgas 100LL. Our automotive gas is 89 octanes but haves about 5% of water contamination due to ethanol adiction by laws. unable to use in aircrafts.

@malcauskas7 Normal Lycoming or Continental aircraft engines are not allowed to use automobile gasoline here in Finland either, but the Antonov engine is different and slightly modified so it´s OK to use it. The Shvetsov Ash 62 engine was designed to use 87 octane gas right from the beginning (1937 or so).

Ahh. Many thanks for posting! This is the best recording I've ever heard about AS-62.

For a palm size digital recorder, the ZOOM is pretty handy. I took the file standing on the side of the exhaust, naturally, at a distance of 2 meters, slightly upwind of the prop wash which easily would have destroyed the recording. Glad you like it.
