As a British observer of the woes of the US educational system it astonishes me that it has taken a Documentary to wake up Middle class america to the realites of education for the lower middle and working class in america no matter there race/ethnicity. The systemic failures in Public Education are not only the Unions issues, the white flight of millions of americans after desegregation ment the good Public schools in urban areas soon became so called sink schools.

I on the other hand live and work in DC for DCPS. I conducted some of the classes for all new teacher. And out of a class room of 27 ppl only one was Black or none.

You dont firer all the BLACK teachers and then hirer all WHITE teachers at schools that are 95% Black. Anyone that studies Afrikan psychology knows that this will create a higher drop out rate and/or self hating complex in young Black students.
